here's all i bought this month!
This album is dedicated to the third and fourth bosses in youkai mountain, The first song was off to a great start it was giving a little hardcore maybe reggaeton? and I absolutely LOVE the background noise it’s a cherry on top and the spammy notes i could say a lot more good things about this album but I wouldn’t sleep tbh LOL, the second track sounds really familiar… but I couldn’t recognize it was really amazing and energetic especially the background notes. I keep ranting about this background notes it really is so cool and addictive. It’s that so many modern Touhou arranges do not recognize these tiny little details but this artist literally copy and pastes it. Bravo honestly, same thing with the third except I’ve heard it in some arranges but nonetheless the artist is really talented, at the fourth track I realized what it sounded like. It sounds like undertale! Though the character doesn’t have any relations it’s really cool to recognize a fandom inside another fandom. Do I think that it was on purpose? Yes, Do you think that it was on purpose? Let me know
I’ve been waiting to buy this album for so longg and now that I bought it I can finally hear it and review it with you guys! The first a really soothing and uplifting house arrangement of tomorrow will be special, same thing with the second track but I like that it has a little bit of echo and silencer in the beginning, Holy hina. The third track is really awesome it has this exciting buildup in the beginning and in the middle of the song it has this loud part I think it’s the climax, the fourth track reminds me of an album I bought like early 2026 it had a progressive house arrangement of solo judgement that jumped ear to ear and this is the same thing! It’s really cool but except it’s not progressive house I think it’s a little bit electro jazz or electro swing topped with some violin, now the fifth track IS electro swing I like how the artist uses sounds of a ship swaying back and forth with a little bit of trumpet. I’m really excited to see if they collabed with tsubu tsubu ensemble, the last in the beginning it was like chiptune but the bpm rises and rises and then a quick change into house and then hardcore??? I really like whatever genre this is I think it’s chiptune hardcore because it’s almost like chiptune with some hardcore samples and uptempo, yall should check this out the album it’s really mind blowing and affordable!!
From the XFD I really liked how the music sounded like and also the cover art is so cute and adorable and this is also one of the albums I’ve been waiting to buy and now I bought it!!! It’s a MoF focused album which already gave a good start onto why to buy this album it has 7 songs every each one of them is a characters theme, let’s talk about the music the first is really great it’s this vocals with rock and high tempo cymbal, the second track is a creative melody that I’ve never heard in my life as a hina fan the bass and guitar were on a slightly different melody only the vocals were following the melody it sounds really good and I really advise you to buy it, the third track had this really exciting climax, the fifth track was the only different song it was the only track that was instrumental and it was giving folk more than rock with some flutes, this circle is a circle that’s new to Touhou or even new to anything so i recommend you supporting this amazing circle and I would love to hear more from this circle
The thing that amazes me much about chiptune that many artists arrange Touhou music in their own special way while still maintaining the perfect nostalgic sound you would hear from a cracked gameboy, I would really love to see various chiptune artists arrange hina’s theme that would be a wonderland to me, the discs cover looks so awesome it has hina rotating in every 90 degree and if your playing the physical CD you would see it spin rapidly and it just looks so amazing wish I could grab a physical copy, anyways onto the music the first track was giving retro and chiptune and having this perfect dark vibe that describes hina and the thing is that this song is really long and for the cheap price of 200 yen, the second track was so breathtaking in the best part it had this riff that jumps ear to ear and then a glitch(?) or like a gate but chiptune, highly recommend it!!! I might even switch my loud ringtone of dark side of fate arrangement to this one!
This is the first ever album from jealouSPECT and the first album from Princess Toho series, the album art looks so cuteeee, the beginning of the first time had some breakbeats and then getting into the dance part the climax was really exciting and I was waiting for the beat drop and it I’m telling you it didn’t disappoint and then topped off with some hardstyle kicks which was MAGNIFICENT the second track is a high tempo arrange of desire drive which was took from an HUGE collab album called “Tonight Seiga” by “Over the Coffee” the beat drop was energetic and a little calming tbh and has a little tint of hardcore the third track is an long ver of Is Hands Up Good? Which I find that hard to believe imo because when I downloaded the album from booth it didn’t say anything about it being an long ver anyways this is honestly my favorite by far because it has perfect energy describing Handzup and it sounds a little like Jumpstyle
When I first bought this album I was looking at the first tracks name and said “wth is handz tech” and what I heard in the beginning was like dubstep and then Handzup and then hardstyle but this one is different the hardstyle kicks ended abruptly and sounded way different and I researched more into what is handz tech and found out handz tech is just like Handzup but with more deep low ends bass but Handzup is just fully electronic, you learn a new thing every day ig, the second track it’s been so long since I’ve heard welcome to the youkai temple arrangement let alone a vocal arrangement?!?! This genre was giving hardcore and the vocal sounded so nostalgic and emotional especially with the classical piano and then the beat drops, it’s sad to see that Watsuki is not collaborating a lot recently her voice is just so beautifullll, the third track I’m so happy to see watsuki again! In the beginning it sounded like house and then the grossest dubstep drop you could ever imagine and then switches to house again with the same nostalgic classical piano, then BOOM dubstep but this one was more of a kawaii future bass(?)
The first song was a really great start I haven’t heard pair of divine beasts in so long I think it was late 2025 and from the moment I knew it was pair of divine beasts I got so excited that I literally froze mid writing and the he did NOT disappoint on the drop and because of me freezing I forgot half of what was going to say but i really love this track (cut to me coming back home) i still forgot what i was about to say but ig words cant capture the first feeling when i listened to this masterpiece
